$GIF – Gains Incoming Fast
Whitepaper
1. Overview
$GIF is the native token of GIF Armory, a degen‑themed platform where users forge custom GIFs and pit them against each other in 1v1 battle arenas.
Memes win attention. Attention drives flows. $GIF captures that loop by turning GIF creation and head‑to‑head battles into an on‑chain game economy, with protocol revenue used to buy back $GIF and fund the ecosystem.
2. Core Product
GIF Armory is a web‑based GIF armory and editor:
- Degen‑centric chassis templates – "cuck chair" in a dingy hotel, empty fridge, cursed cats/dogs, toxic relationship scenes, goblin mode characters, etc.
- Sticker system – overlays like:
- God Candle
- Rug Pull
- Laser Eyes
- Hammer
- Money Printer
- Dumpster Fire
- Payload text – punchline layer for the meme.
- Upload option – users can upload classic memes or screenshots if they want typical formats.
Output: a custom GIF "weapon" ready to be shared or entered into battle (once battles are live).
2.2 Battle Arenas (Phase 2+)
Battle Arenas are 1v1 GIF duels with live voting and optional wagering:
- Each match features two GIFs facing off during a timed voting window.
- Winner is determined by:
- On‑site votes, and
- Off‑chain engagement metrics on X (likes/quotes/reposts) as a weighting factor and tiebreaker.
- Modes:
- Casual: bragging rights, XP, leaderboards.
- Wagered: users stake $GIF on outcomes; winner (and optionally spectators) share the pot.
3. Token Utility
$GIF is the core asset that powers and aligns the ecosystem.
1) Wagering & Battles (Phase 2+)
- Entry stakes for 1v1 matches.
- Spectator bets on live matches.
- Higher‑stakes events (tournaments, boss battles).
2) Ecosystem Flywheel
- Platform fees from wagers route into buybacks, rewards, marketing, and costs.
- Buybacks create constant bid pressure and refill reward pools.
3) Community Vault & Governance (Phase 3)
- A portion of protocol revenue goes to a Community Vault.
- $GIF holders can direct vault funds to:
- Special events and prize pools
- Grants for creators, developers, and partners
- Burns or strategic liquidity decisions.
4) Access & Reputation
- Access to certain high‑profile events or limited‑time arenas may require holding/staking $GIF.
- On‑chain reputation (match history, win rate, creator stats) can be tied to staked $GIF for boosted rewards.
No generator fees: The GIF Armory remains free to use; monetization comes from battle wagering, not paywalled creativity.
4. Wagering & Fee Mechanics
(Phase 2 and beyond)
4.1 Match Wagers
For a wagered 1v1 match:
- Two creators lock in their stakes in $GIF. Example: 1,000 $GIF each → 2,000 $GIF total pot.
- Optionally, spectators may stake $GIF on either side (implementation detail for Phase 2+).
- At match resolution:
- 99% of the pot goes to winners (creator and/or winning bettors).
- 1% of the total wagered amount is taken as the platform fee.
4.2 Platform Fee Distribution
Let F = total platform fees collected (1% of all wagered volume).
1) Community Vault
- A fixed share of F is sent directly to a community‑controlled vault.
- The vault funds: Tournaments and special events, Creator/degeneration grants, Strategic burns or liquidity decisions (via governance).
2) Dev Fee Pool
The remaining portion of F forms the dev fee pool, which is split as:
- 80% → Buybacks – Used to market‑buy $GIF on the open market. Purchased tokens can be burned and/or allocated to reward pools.
- 10% → Marketing – KOL deals, cross‑promos, contests, campaigns, listing pushes.
- 5% → Overhead – Infrastructure, audits, operations, security, legal.
- 5% → Development – Ongoing engineering, new features, improvements to GIF Armory and arenas.
This creates a tight feedback loop: more battles → more fee flow → more $GIF buybacks plus event funding → more attention → more battles.
5. Roadmap
Phase 1 – Launch (Token + Armory)
- Deploy $GIF token.
- Launch GIF Armory v1: Degen chassis templates, Sticker system, Text payloads and watermarking.
- X integration and shareable battle previews (off‑chain clout only).
- No on‑chain wagering yet. Focus is on onboarding users, testing templates and UX, seeding social presence and content.
Phase 2 – Battle Arenas & Wagering
- Launch GIF Battle Arenas: Ranked and casual 1v1 queues, Live voting system with anti‑sybil measures.
- Enable on‑chain wagering in $GIF: Creators can opt‑in to staked battles, Basic spectator betting on live matches.
- Implement 1% platform fee on all wagered volume with routing as defined.
- Launch leaderboards and seasons with $GIF‑denominated rewards.
Phase 3 – Hyper‑Growth & Governance
Phase 3 is where $GIF aims to go from product to self‑reinforcing attention engine:
Battleverse Expansion
- Multi‑match events (4‑man brackets, weekend tournaments).
- Themed arenas (for example "Relationship Hell Week", "Pets in Pain", "Bear Market Revival").
- Sponsored events funded by the Community Vault and partners.
Ecosystem Incentives
- Creator royalties for top‑winning GIFs.
- Streak and ladder rewards paid in $GIF from buyback‑funded prize pools.
- Seasonal XP resets with prestige systems and cosmetic flex for veterans.
Community‑Driven Governance
- Activate $GIF staking for governance rights.
- On‑chain voting on: Vault usage, New chassis and sticker sets, Adjustments to fee routing parameters.
Network Expansion & Integrations
- Integrations with other dApps (embedding battles as widgets, on‑chain feeds).
- Cross‑chain or L2 deployment if needed for scalability and UX.
- Potential NFTization of top‑ranked GIFs and collectibles.
The goal of Phase 3 is simple: turn GIF Armory into the default arena for on‑chain meme warfare, with $GIF at the center of every match, prize, and governance decision.
6. Principles
- Memes First, Fees Second – Creativity stays free. Monetization comes from optional wagering, not from paywalling the generator.
- Aligned Incentives – Protocol success loops back into $GIF via buybacks, rewards, and community vault growth.
- Community Up Only (In Spirit) – The Community Vault and governance give degens real say over events, burns, and how far to push the meta.
7. Disclaimers
- $GIF is a speculative digital asset with high risk and volatility.
- Nothing in this document is financial, legal, or tax advice.
- All tokenomics, fee percentages, and roadmap items are subject to change based on audits, technical constraints, and community governance.
